Gaëlle Rouard - Expanded Cinema Performance

Die französische Filmemacherin, Alchemistin und Performance-Künstlerin Gaëlle Rouard ist im Juni in Offenbach und Frankfurt am Main mit zwei Expanded Cinema Performances zu Gast.

Seit Anfang der 1990er-Jahre macht Gaëlle Rouard handgemachte Filme, wobei sie sich auf die photochemische Entwicklung von Analogfilm spezialisiert hat. Rouard zeigt ihre Filme, indem sie mit zwei 16-mm-Projektoren arbeitet. Dabei wirkt sie direkt auf die Filmprojektion ein; sie verlangsamt den Filmfluss, bringt Blenden und Prismen ins Spiel, arbeitet mit dem Ton.

Rouard war langjähriges Mitglied der "102 rue d'Alembert" in Grenoble (ein Veranstaltungsort/Projekt für experimentelle Musik und Film), sie leitete viele Jahre lang das "Atelier MTK" (handwerkliches Filmlabor). Sie gibt ihr Wissen in Workshops und an Kunstschulen weiter.
